The second week of the Hands-On Summer School began on Monday 9 October.

Students were divided into 3 groups in order to work hands-on in the laboratories of the Partner Institution based in Tirana: UPT, UART and ASA.

The Albanian lecturers Mikel Temo (UART), Fjoralba Perzhita (ASA) and Entela Daci (UPT), together with the lecturers from the Italian and Spanish partner institutions Arianna Buffagni and Angela Graziano -(UNIBO), Fabio Planu (UNIURB), Francesca Gasparetto (UNIBO) and Pablo Porral (ESCRBBCCG), carried out activities on the basis of their pilot case studies.

In the ASA Laboratory students dealt with:

1.Methods of treatment applied in Conservation-Restoration of archaeological objects.

2.Deterioration problems in archaeological objects.

3.Case study (Red Figure Ceramic Pottery/Ancient Greek pottery.

In the UPT students dealt with

1. Digital survey and methods for heritage documentation

2. Focus on open source softwares for digital documentation

In the UART Laboratory students dealt with

1- Executive techniques and degradation problems on paintings on canvas
2- The importance of the documentation of an artwork: the condition report
3- Documentation and general analysis of a study case (Triptic, Time for changes, Mikel Temo, 1991)
